Jackie Chan is my favorite Asian actor.   I am always won over by his lightning fast martial arts moves and totally impressed by his work ethic too! It is therefore not a surprise that I would want in on being one of the first few people to watch Jackie Chan's new movie, Dragon Blade.

A lot of digital mastery was put in to produce Dragon Blade.  The ancient setting of the movie was almost believable but unfortunately I've seen better computer works.  Nonetheless, putting aside historical and costume accuracy, Dragon Blade was an effective retelling of an epic contributed to shaping a nation and a culture.

The Hollywood actors, John Cusack and Adrian Brody were not that much of eyecandies but their artistic craft was impressive on screen.  You can really feel the stone cold character and heart of a champion qualities in both of them.

Worth noting was the melodramatics the Prince had evoked.  Love for country, duty and fraternity was constantly looping all through out the scenes.  Over all the whole family will enjoy Dragon Blade and the kids and kids at heart will be on edge because of the fighting scenes.

Turns out, I really enjoyed Zombadings: Patayin sa Shokot si Remington.  Just fresh from the cinema and I'm already wanting to pitch in my review.  This movie is hilarious to a point that I now fear my jaw might be dislocated; a reminder that I need to open my mouth and stretch my jaw muscles once in a while to avoid injuries.

So what's the point?

Homophobia.  Gay zombies or zombies in general may be funny and unreal but homophobia, in this country, is as real and as relevant as those beauty contests in our local Barangays.  Our national religion which is Machismo is still holding our progress by the balls and I don't see it loosening its grip anytime soon.  Why do you think a Robin Padilla is still the bee's knees?

So does this movie made me feel bad about homophobia? No, not really coz it was funny as hell!  Whatever message I'm supposed to get about fearing gay people being bad, got lost the moment Remington madeout with his bestfriend ( a must see! ).   Zombadings depicts a status quo at best.  A movie watcher's recourse is to just laugh hard and judge that it is indeed funny.

Just saw Alice in Bongga Wonderland and I can't help but compare her dreamt up wonderland to the reality of our crazy Philippine politics.  Good for Alice that her experience was all a product of her mind.  On the other hand we Filipinos have to endure our own Red Queen in real life.  The problem is that it seems our country does not yet have a champion to slay the Jabberwocky, baby Jabberwockies actually.

Aside from Jude Law's charm, I saw the movie as being redundantly predictable. If it weren't for the talent of the actors I would have dozed this one off. It was obvious in how the dialogs were delivered that the setting was more of a game. I did like the choice of words and the rich vocabulary the actors contributed. I praise the genius work for the whole film was just starred by 2 people. The display of modern designs and technology in interior decorations was admirable. The entire film was to me obviously comedic. Seriously funny. The theater would have been the appropriate stage for this play, but nonetheless it didnt fail to excite me.

I love this movie, so I rate 4 out of 5 stars

This was a movie released back in 1999. It starred Bruce Willis and Michelle Pfeiffer. This is one of those movies i prefer to watch. Im not much of a sci-fi and magic movie kinda woman, I simply enjoy connecting what Im watching with daily instances of life. It's nice to see myself in a character, makes me learn more of who I am. Anyway this movie is about a married couple of 15 yrs who are at the verge of giving up on their promised journey together. Overt the years of their marriage all they seem to remember are the fights and horrible arguments that led them to hate each other to a point that they just simply make a happy scene in front of their two kids. But dont get them wrong, they still love each other so much and are finding ways to make up. Still with all the effort, they often end up lashing at each other for who they are and what they did, simply pointing fingers on whose to blame on why they had grown apart. You see, wife is so OC and has to be on specific schedule even sex has to be timed, while on the other hand husband is just too carefree and spontaneous. The two are clawing at each other because of differences.

Since The Notebook, this was the latest movie I shed tears on. It just hits me that it talks about setting aside differences and to compromise for the sake of your love and rich history both of you in a relationship have brought. I especially like the part where in Katie (Michelle Pfeiffer) decided on the last minute not to tell the kids they were getting a divorce because they were an "us" and she cant tell any other man she'll be with in the future that her child has his hands simply because he is not the father.

Relationships are about absorbing that other person so that in time there is only an "us" and no longer a you or a me. In relationships youll always see that in time both of you become a single tune it doesnt sound the same if correct notes are not side by side.

I love this movie and a toast to our relationships
