One Bag at a Time

Dont you just hate rummaging your bag everytime you are looking for keys or a pen? Youtube guru, Michelle Phan seems to have enlightened me!

Round Number 27!

Wow! I am now really on my late 20's.  27 feels heavy too.  The number rings the loudest clang! clang! to my ears.  Like a huge coin going down a tin can.  But I believe 27 is that corner where the blind curve lies.  Its that sweet spot of aging where you know it in your gut that teenage drama is just not that cute anymore and swooning is for nut-jobs.  Ha! Christian Grey?  Really now?  I mean, come on! But I digress.  Growing up doesnt make things lighter, doesnt make you any more optimistic nor does it make you instantly omnificent.

Hitting 27, and hopefully higher numbers in the future, made me feel the ground, the breeze, smell the scent of rotting leaves, the musky 4 o' clock afternoons, the bitter taste of sour graping, the strange tang of happy thoughts.  Sensitive is the word.

The day before my birthday, just the afternoon before this post, I wore last years birthday dress.  What once was a perfect fit is now too snug for comfort.  Pfft!  That is one aspect that has obviously progressed over the past year besides my age.  Nonetheless, a sign of progress, I guess. ;)

One thing is certain to come, time to pack up my toys and prep myself up for my life's main event for the current weight division.  I will have yet to qualify though.  Please pray for me.

Toodles! for now.

XOXO,

Birthday girl - Isabeau

Know Where To Buy Your Happiness

If you have seen Breakfast at Tiffany's you;ll know what I mean by this post. ;)

You know that saying "People who say money can't buy happiness clearly do not know where to shop." is so true I would risk my hair just to swear by it.  Don't you just love that sweet feeling; a feeling only momentary selfishness could possibly envelope you?  Vanity is indeed my most favorite sin. It gets me up from bed everyday.  To wake up and will the world to give me my heart's desires is a "pick-me-upper" stronger than coffee.

Since its my birthmonth, let me share a few of my coveted junk.  Call it my wishlist if you like.

The Diaries of Anais Nin

Tony Tony Chopper Plush Doll

Dr Martens 1460 Cherry Red

MAC Marilyn Monroe Collection Lipstick

If you have seen Breakfast at Tiffany's you;ll know what I mean by this post. ;)

So for the rest of you, there's a GREAT ANNIVERSARY SALE going on in AYALA CENTER CEBU from today Nov. 15 to 18!

Ayala Center Cebu will be giving away chances of winning a barkada set of movie passes plus popcorn and drinks for a minimum purchase of 2 tickets from Nov 15-21.

Girl On The Wire

One of my ultimate fantasies is to be able to masterfully juggle time.  Be efficient, be all-knowing, be in all places at once! - is my perfect idea of a successful lifestyle.  Yep I have delusions of being a god! But don't we all?  The poker barbie has done it, so shall I!  I'd just have to learn how to get myself on the wire.

However I try to not let the maddening pressure seep through my choice of clothing.  Though laid back fashion is my thing these days, nothing spells Looney Girl better than a uniform sweatshirt.

I have temporarily retired my sky-high heels, leopard prints, and micro-mini skirts to give way to customized/DIY T-shirt, colored jeans and a pair of sturdy flats.

  • Tshirts from TEEm NO-RULES are really catching my eye.  I'm still contemplating on an awesome design though.
  • You can't miss colored jeans; they're everywhere now.  Mint green is quite in the radar too!  Check Lookbook.nu - sea foam green is the bomb!
  • Outland is my brand of choice when it comes to ground level foot wear.  You can find them in the local department stores.
Goddesses have down time too!  However,  you don't have to look all gloomy when life gives you lemons.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Lovesick

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain

Wow!  What a mouthful!

Let me just say:  I so miss beauty blogging and all that vanity stuff we all like.  I have been quite preoccupied attending to my sanity and by that I mean the pressing need to get my shiznitz together.  It's kind of refreshing to be surrounded by people who do not know the difference between a tinted lipbalm and a moisturizing lipstick.  I'm this close to holding a mini lecture.  But I digress.

Now, on to this exciting new addition from Revlon.  News of Revlon Balm Stain has been floating around the internet lately.  My fave bloggers had already put their fingers on it and so far reviews are great.  Picking up from that, I think their Balm Stain line seem really promising compared to the marker type lipstains - the one that had a separate balm on the bottom end.  I didnt like that previous lipstain line because of the resulting uneven coverage on the lips.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Lovesick

Likable points:
  • The packaging of the Revlon Balm Stains looks like a chubby plastic crayon.
  • It's fun to carry around.  Since its both a lipbalm and a lipstain it stays longer than ordinary lipstick but is doesnt have the matte finish I preferred in a plain lipstain.
  • It doesnt easily budge after one meal despite having eaten a greasy dinner.
  • It has a minty scent and a very faint trace of sparkles.
  • Good coverage and light on the lips too.
Unlikable points:
  • There are some when days I dont like the smell of mint.
  • Price point is Php575.00
  • I doubt if it could stay on for more than 6 hours especially when you have an oral fixation like I do.
  • The packaging makes you believe there is more product inside the tube.
yes boudoir pics! que horror! lol

Having said this many for just a Balm Stain I think a recommendation is in order.
Yes buy it!  Go!

P.S. Tnx BFF for the early wedding gift! lol

What's Your Anthem?

Despite being caught up with the pressures of Now, the day's in-betweens deserve to be celebrated with a soundtrack.  I don't have much words for this post, just bangin' music.  Enjoy my selection of artists.

Dont judge me by my playlist alone.  ^^

Just Got Lucky On Books!

I"m on a lucky streak.  Won two online contests!
Isn't that grand?!

First was this mid June Fully Booked did this #win50shades contest in twitter where in patrons get a chance to win copy of the best seller book Fifty Shades of Grey by tweeting puns for the color gray.  Sent a few tweets, went to school, came back home and found out I won!  Erotica is really so high school for me, but since I will have a copy soon (in 3 weeks) I will read it anyway.

Second was from a newly discovered local online bookstore, Blink who offers free shipping!  This second win got me elated because the prize was a 1Q84 Haruki Murakami box set.  3 MURAKAMI books!  And they sent it right away, I'm impressed!  Below is my answer on why I should win.  I think I nailed that right on the spot!

Im really extra happy these days.  So much that my hair is glowing in a vibrant golden hue.
Have a happy weekend y'all!

Men: Dodong Lousy, Narcissistic Nerd and The Gigolo

Some days I just wish I could instantly ward off some types of men within ten meters of me. You might immediately think "WTF who are you to be such a bitch?" well just read along and maybe you'd see from my point of view too. There aren't that many factors that that catch my ire. In my good days, I am usually just an anything-goes kind of person. I do get along just fine with anyone. However, there are moments when that suppressed diva part of me just takes over and something as judgmental as this post like that post I did - Beware of These Three Types of Women - which is just hahah mean! Nonetheless, I'd still post my thoughts anyway because this is my blog after all and as long as I'm not naming names I should be scot-free.

So here goes and bato bato sa langit ang matamaan wala ga helmet!

Dodong Lousy is the exact term for guys, no wait, boys who are still emo-tripping at over 25.  They haven't grown emotionally for the past 10 years and still insist on wearing that hideously faded rock band t-shirt they've never actually seen play in person - insert poser snide comment.  Most likely, they think they're the coolest kid in town after holding the best record for having been kicked out of the house for the nth time - layas ko bai.  At one point, I did say poor you and your parents should treat you better, but today I yawn and say tell me something new about you for the past decade please!  Grow up or grow a pair of jigglies!

Comic Boards

Narcissistic Nerds can bleed my ears to death.  I have nothing against nerds and metrosexuals (usually gay), they are genuinely amusing.  But a nerd and an egocentric bearer of a Y chromosome will give me acid reflux.  Being well dressed and good looking doesn't really make up for my annoyance because I'm the type who likes my eye candies virtually mute and the only sounds coming from his mouth are James Deen like growls.  Bottom line is, letting your work do the talking tops my sexy meter anytime.  And whats the deal with explaining to me every high falutin word you know in the dictionary?  If I dont understand you, I will explicitly let you know, as in stop you mid-air.  Another scenario:  you passionately retell something like Star Wars when all I asked if you watch Game of Thrones (which I dig) - hoi! do I look like I want to be Ob Wan whatever's groupie?  No, that's a rhetorical question.

Imp Awards
Oh The Gigolo and his lewd designs.  They come in all ages and sizes.  They try to be discreet as most predators would prefer so, but do not be deceived by lack of presence.  A lion has more respect for the females in its harem.  At least lions do their duty to protect his ladies and the ladies reward him willingly too.  But The Gigolo fakes the parts he play and plays it well to lure girls into a web of promises only to be sucked dry.  He wants you for the good things you can supply him with, be it sex, attention, money, exams and so on and so forth.

I am not a man hater (bold and underlined jud ha!) and people around me know that for a fact. I still do believe that my "the one" is still out there some where.  They say when you will something, hard enough, the universe will conspire to give it to you.  Some sleazy shit I got from The Secret but who knows right?  I don't know what I want exactly from a guy yet, but I do know what I do not want and those three up there, Dodong Lousy, Narcissistic Nerd and The Gigolo just about sums it all up.

Your Beachness
Your Beachness by damnvixen

I never get to glamour up on the beach.  The water is just too tempting to pass it up for a photo op.  Maybe some of you prefer strolling by the shore or check out other beach goers.  I, on the other hand, would jump into the water at the precise moment that opportunity presents itself.  Although I do still strike a pose, I have long succumbed to the fact that I'm no Sports Illustrated model and so therefore pictures of me in all my drenched glory arent really worth posting outside my facebook account.

Which now brings us to my long time dream of looking mighty fine by the pool or shore ala Michelle Pfeiffer in Scarface.

Soon this dream wont stay that way for too long.  Zalora made sure of that.  The most popular brands, ease of payment and free shipping - I am sold!

Nuffnang is Coming to Cebu!

The only name that pops out of my head when the term blog advertising community is mentioned is Nuffnang.  They bring good news to bloggers like me with their constant blogging contests and advertising incentives.  This coming weekend the Nuffnang Team is rolling out a South Out: The Cebu Invasion meet and greet event at Red Box, Ayala Center Cebu on April 28, 2012 (Saturday), 1:30 PM – 4:30 PM.

Now that they are intent on establishing their presence here in Metro Cebu, I would love for them to see my locale's eccentricities.  I will start with the best summer destinations in Cebu City, the heritage sites, then on to the very affordable delectable food, then to my favorite ukay-ukay destinations.

But who am I kidding? The Nuffnang team would most probably be pressed for time. Well then I'd have to take them to the one perfect place that best embodies the Cebuano vibe - the Basilica Minore del Santo Niño!

So dali na Nuffnang Team!  Isuroy ta kamo sa cuidad sa Sugbo!

Thank you to the sponsors for making this possible!
