Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain 

Wow!  What a mouthful!

Let me just say:  I so miss beauty blogging and all that vanity stuff we all like.  I have been quite preoccupied attending to my sanity and by that I mean the pressing need to get my shiznitz together.  It's kind of refreshing to be surrounded by people who do not know the difference between a tinted lipbalm and a moisturizing lipstick.  I'm this close to holding a mini lecture.  But I digress.  

Now, on to this exciting new addition from Revlon.  News of Revlon Balm Stain has been floating around the internet lately.  My fave bloggers had already put their fingers on it and so far reviews are great.  Picking up from that, I think their Balm Stain line seem really promising compared to the marker type lipstains - the one that had a separate balm on the bottom end.  I didnt like that previous lipstain line because of the resulting uneven coverage on the lips.

Likable points:

• The packaging of the Revlon Balm Stains looks like a chubby plastic crayon. 
• It's fun to carry around.  Since its both a lipbalm and a lipstain it stays longer than ordinary lipstick but is doesnt have the matte finish I preferred in a plain lipstain.  
• It doesnt easily budge after one meal despite having eaten a greasy dinner.  
• It has a minty scent and a very faint trace of sparkles.  
• Good coverage and light on the lips too.

Unlikable points:

• There are some when days I dont like the smell of mint.
• Price point is Php575.00
• I doubt if it could stay on for more than 6 hours especially when you have an oral fixation like I do.
• The packaging makes you believe there is more product inside the tube.

Having said this many for just a Balm Stain I think a recommendation is in order.  

Yes buy it!  Go!

Last time I checked this is the 21st century.  Queen Elizabeth has long been dead and England is now on their second Elizabeth.  So whats with all the fear mongering about lead in cosmetics?  Come on conspiracy theories again?  It's sad how some people put their imagination to waste.

It really pays to be critical about rumors and do a bit of investigation first before you believe them at face value.  

Seriously if there were enough poison in today's commonly used cosmetics, someone somewhere would have dropped dead by now!

So again enough with the fear mongering and go get a real job that requires deeper thinking!

Personally, I think this issue of lead poisoning from cosmetics is all baloney!

British sensation Adele has been on constant repeat on my Ipod all through out this summer.  I catch myself thinking in British accent, that is how much damage her music has done to me.  I sing her songs all the time.  I belch out in the shower, while idling in my room and when Im in the car too!  

But its not just her soulful music that had me transfixed, I applaud her utter disrespect for the entertainment industry's concept and projection beauty.  She is her own authentic self and I truly admire her for that.  The way she communicates her soul through her music needs no more than her beautiful voice and perhaps a piano or guitar.  I swear you will just want to stop in your shoes and absorb it all.  I know I did.

Her signature makeup style is pretty much a piece of cake.  Youtube have so many tutorial videos but you really just need to pay attention on her pictures to get the idea.  Here are the things to remember when channeling Adele's minimalistic makeup.

• Hair style:  Parted deep on the side and style it with a pony tail on easy days or twist it to a bun slightly below one ear.  
• Eyes:  Brown/bronze smokey eye with a heavy wing tipped black eyeliner.  False eyelashes would be nice for the added drama.
• Lips:  Stick to neutral pinks, those that are very near the color of your natural lips and then some lipgloss too.
• Face:  Matte foundation with full coverage and a blush for contouring.

The trick is to just really focus on the eyes and go neutral on the lips.  Wear your fave LBD and youre good to be Adele for the day!

Welcome to my own take at an FOTD ( face of the day).  "Why? " you say?  Coz One can never have too many self portraits, I'm vain like that! ^^

It was my sister's first piano recital last 26th so we were all excited.  We actually went there on time despite the fact that she was performer no. 40.  We had to endure waiting for almost 3 hours to listen to her play Tarantella.  Nonetheless it was a fun afternoon with much goofing around SM food court.  Bumped into and chatted with good friends I havent seen in  a while.  Summer's almost over.  Shucks!  I will soon have to reunite with my boring books.  Weh!

Probably the next best thing to reading a good book in these stressful times, is online shopping.  Sometimes when I get digital money, you know paypal credits, e-gift cards and coupons, my mind runs with so many things I want to buy.  Odd thing is I'm not usually like that what it comes to cold cash.  Just when I got bored with ebay, I discovered strawberrynet.com.  It was love at first sight, the penny-pincher in me was instantly hooked by the free shipping and bargain deals come-ons.  

After an hour of clicking through the site I finally settled for 2 lipglosses, one MAC the other from Smashbox, both in a pretty shade of mauve.  They even gave me a Stila lipgloss in Barbie pink, which I gifted to my mom.  I got the items in under 20 days.  I really recommend this shopping site.

Why mauve and not my usual kind of reds?  I wanted to lay off the red lipstick but I cant jump into pinks and corals just yet.  Call it: Project Tone Down.  Then maybe later on I can transition to soft, sweet and ladylike colors.

Verdict:

This color is gonna take a little getting used to.  MAC looks really good during the day time and this shade complements my pigmented lips too!  Smashbox's Cosmo is vibrant mauve and lot more pigmented than MAC.  My only turnoff would be the sandy texture of the lipgloss, its annoying.

Toning down the very aggressive rouge would be difficult.  Im not going to stop wearing reds though but I just want to entertain other colors.  My lipstick stash has way too much reds that I wont really get to finish them all.  So this is me not buying red lippies until I really have to.

I'm a beauty blogger for the obvious reason that I love make up especially that particular art of putting on the beauty stuff on my face.  However, this past month I could'nt seem to find time to prep my face up, nor have I exuded my flamboyance in my recent outfits to school.  Sigh!  I fear I'm turning gray!  


In life one would always, at least at one point, reach a divergent road.  Here you have to choose only one path to take.  For now, I can't mix my vibrant and carefree self with the need to focus on a tough dream I'm determined to realize.  I can't be an attorney at law when my current traits show I'm more of an attorney at lol.


All I'm saying is I need to mellow down, I guess.  Hmm maybe once a week I can commit to playing my usual bouncy self and be the sunshine that I am to everyone.  


But wait!  I still wear a hint of makeup, though I'm now reduced to just mascara, lipbalm, blush, and filling in my brows.  Yup!  No more powder, eyeliner, eyeshadow, etc.  coz it takes soo damn long to put it together! I'm way behind my readings :(

This was my first time to attend an official acquaintance party.  The theme was Hat Party, everyone were compelled to where a headdress of some sort. There were already a handful of "unofficial" *cough redhorse *cough more redhorse gatherings I had joined the last five semesters I've been in law school.  Definitely it was the time to make bongga ang go over and beyond the usual law student stiffness.  So unwind we did and partied till 4 am-ish ^^

While the whole world is going gaga over FIFA World Cup, people in the Philippines in general are clueless about the sport.  I for one is curious about it and wonder to myself why the big deal?  Thank heavens for the rapid development of technology and information, the World Cup is just a button away.  Since there is no team Philippines, I choose to support team Deutschland and here are the reasons why:

• I have loving relatives now based in Germany and they have a very nice family.  
• Our neighbor is in Germany too and she seems happy ^^
• I am intrigued by German History
• I have a fascination for World War II and the Aryan race point of view
• I believe Germans are one of the intelligent people on this planet
• I already have a Deutschland tshirt with a big German flag attached to the back like a cape! LOL

My bro has several Manchester jersey(whatever lol) 

I don't know any player in the World Cup except for David Beckham, so can you suggest skillful Deutschland players I can cheer for?  I'm trying to be global here and join in on the craze.  ^^

At 2:30am Philippine time its Ghana versus Deutschland, and I will watch it, see if ill enjoy it and learn the rules of the sport too!

I am a lipstick hoarder.  Red lipsticks are my weakness.  I wear rouge lips whenever I can and I don't need any special occasion just so I can sport extra red lips.  In a short span of time I have gathered quite a lot of these babies.  My current staple is my newest find Maybelline's Colorsensational in Summer Sunset.  It's my perfect red lipstick for the time being.  It's a bit drying but I don't care, I have my Carmex lipbalm to rescue my lips whenever I need lip repairs.

Woke up early last Monday so that I wont be bothered by long queues.  Well waking up early did not help at all because I got the wrong priority number, one intended for a different cluster precinct than mine.  So I ended up having gone to and fro the public school where I should vote THREE times.  But I am a patient person when it comes to long loooong lines, boredom was not so much of a killer as I was entertained by the different kinds of people teeming the polling area.  I love the fact that when it is election time, people from all walks of life gather around in one place, rich or poor or famous or just plain simpletons, we all went out of our ways to make our voices be heard.

After 48 years of waiting for my turn to vote, I went home a little over 7 o'clock pm with a dirty blue nail on my index finger.  Alas! The first automated election was generally peaceful and definitely a success.  

We Filipinos may not be famous for our smart choice of leaders but we are definitely well known survivors.  And so the majority has spoken, let us just all get along and COOPERATE LIKE THERE'S NO TOMORROW. Our new President needs all the help he can to run our country. This is not just Noy2's fight we are all in on this we are Filipinos after all... We maybe naive, but we can definitely wager a good fight! PILIPINO KAYA NATIN TOH!

- Im not so much of a fan because I have to rub the liner many times on my lid just so I can achieve this subtle cat's eye look.  It doesnt wear off easily though, indeed it lasts 24 hours if on an unoily unrubbed eyelid.

- I swear by this, they keep changing the packaging but its the same formula, doesnt stay that long but it gives me the right coverage for my sparse brows.

I hope this hue of pink suits your eyes as it does to mine.  I decided to change the look and feel of my LaiR because I sense the lady-ish appeal is now something I can put a claim on.  So its now out with the tomboy effect and in with the blush blush.  

One thing will not change though:  I am still your DaMnViXeN in red lipstick minus the black.  

I was feeling down after taking the midterm exam on Administrative Law.  You guessed it!  T'was difficult or I didn't read enough.. So to perk me up I laid out my makeup abobots.

It is still our midterm exam week as of press time and I have 5 more exams to battle.. Yoooosh! 

This is my little sister Dayen.  She is my youngest sibling and the only sister I have.  She is 11 years old and soon she will be a teenager.  I kid her sometimes by calling her Emma ang babaeng emo (Emma the emo girl) because she so into the band Paramore and prefers wearing black.  Here are the two instances captured on camera where I put make up on her.  Since she is slim and curvy, something I never was (hahaha), I hope she materialize  my secret dream of being Ms. Universe.  Right after she overcomes her shyness ofcourse.

These pictures where taken from a birthday party for one of the daughters of Mom's officemates.  She won best in costume for showing up as a fairy.  She looked so adorable.  Of course I was the makeup artist.  It was not much of a job to do.  I just put on her a lot of shimmers and bronzers, a blue eyelid and yellow-gold lipgloss.  She just dazzled that day.

Sometimes when I get bored I practice my makeup skills on her.  She is always game for it even though her first response would be a big NO.  But she obliges, I'm her big sister after all.  For this set, I used the 56 color palette of Dollface Cosmetics on her eyes and cheeks.  On her lips is Nichido Multipurpose stick and a clear lipgloss for that pale effect.  Should this pass for a rock chick look?

I think a girl can never have too much of make up stuffs.  My stash is so undersized compared to other women out there.  And I'm not talking about professional make up artists, they don't count.  Let's just say they are justified for their "assortments".  I'm not that crazy yet!  The most pricey make up I have are my Mary Kay collection.  These are just basic things I think EVERY girl should have.

Sad to say I don't have M.A.C. but I really want to try them, just waiting for that right time and budget. LOLS
